Well, as some of you know, I've been trying since I had Meganne to get back to my goal weight. That's 5 years now!!! Yikes. Today's blog is to vent about my struggle and to beg for some motivation and support. I have been a lifetime member of Weight Watchers for EVER! I know the program works and I've lost weight after the boys and been happy with myself. Why is it such a struggle now? I have no idea. I only have about 25lbs to lose to get to my skinny 142. I love Weight Watchers. I love the way they teach you to eat healthy. I just can't stay motivated this time and I don't get it. Some of my friends are trying the new HCG diet and are swearing by it. I've considered it, but only for about 1 second. I don't believe you should put extra hormones into your body that you don't need just to lose weight. Then once you've lost it all, like most diets (Weight Watchers Excluded) you put the weight back on because it doesn't teach you to eat in moderation, exercise, and make better choices. So, therefore, once you're done with the hormone that causes you to lose the weight, you've learned nothing, you go back to your old habits and you put the weight back on quicker than you took it off. Therefore, with Weight Watchers, they teach you how to eat healthy, eat in moderation and exercise. They teach all this to you so you can make good choices once you've lost the weight and therefore keep it off. I was very successful with this twice. Then I got pregnant the 3rd time, lost the motivation to eat healthy and exercise and the rest is history. So, how can I get motivated again? I have no idea. I keep going to meetings, though I'm guilty of missing 3 weeks in a row due to sick kids being home from school, and I still cant stop eating crap! It's not like I'm eating fast food every day, Yuck! It's the cookies, candy and crap that lay around the house. It's all very frustrating. So, people, I come to you to please help me with this journey, and give me some motivation! Please don't tell me you've looked at my photos from facebook and you don't think I need to lose weight. I do, but only 25lbs. It should be easy, so why is it so hard now? I don't get it. HELP!
Here are a few photos...the first is the most recent of me when I ran a 5k in Oct.
And this one is me at 142 After I had Alexander. I see a HUGE difference! Love this photo and hopefully one day I'll be there again.

God's message for today.
Every Sunday we go to Church. (well 98% of the time anyway.) And today's message from the Lord was to tell us he never forgets us. He is always there with us even when we forget about him. One of my favorite poems to back up this message is Footprints in the Sand.
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”
Recently I had to remind myself of this poem and rely on my faith to get us through the trying time of Layoffs at Stephen's work. I knew that through prayers, faith and support from good friends and family we would make it through no matter what the outcome. I knew that God wouldn't forget about us and that no matter what, he had what was best for us in mind. So, to all of you out there, no matter what your faith, religion, beliefs, God is there with you. He is there to help you, keep you safe, and protect you. God Bless everyone!!!!

The cute things kids say
So I was thinking all day today about what I was going to blog about. I even thought of skipping it because I couldn't come up with a good topic. Well, the opportunity came just a few minutes ago when Andrew came crying into our room as we were watching Mad Men.
Here's a short history...I took up crocheting about a year ago, and for Christmas I made him a Mario doll. This kid is obsessed with Mario. Well, when we went to Zion last week he forgot to bring Mario with him. He sleeps with Mario every night along with a Madame Alexander baby and a small teddy bear. SO, he comes into our room tonight hysterical. He says "He can't sleep because he's soooo sad because he forgot to take Mario to Zion with us and he didn't get to see Zion and he's never been to a hotel with us. He tried showing Mario the Zion book he bought with his own money, but it didn't help."
Needless to say, Stephen and I just couldn't help ourselves, we burst out in a fit of the giggles, which was most likely the WRONG thing to do when our child is having a crisis. We just couldn't help it. We tried to cover our tracks by telling him he was such a sweet and caring child and that we loved him very much. We assured him it wouldn't be our last trip to Zion and that next time he could make sure to bring Mario. We also assured him it wouldn't be our only trip where we got to stay in a hotel. I also snuggled him and showed him all the photos we took in Zion as they were loaded on our computer.
What can I say. It was the best thing that happened today. My kids never cease to amaze me. Especially when they say the darndest things when you least expect it.

The worst part about being a mom...
As all of you who are parents would agree, the worst part of the job is when they get sick. Mainly because there isn't a darned thing you can do about it. You can't cure it, you can't take away the pain, you can't take away the misery...it Sucks! Today was my day to be tested by my poor, poor sick baby.
Andrew has had a fever and a runny nose since Sunday while we were in Zion. Yesterday I took him to the pediatrician because his fever just wouldn't go away. He has been diagnosed with a sinus infection. His poor nose looks like Rudolf, and he just doesn't feel very well. He was prescribed and antibiotic, forgive me because I will butcher the spelling, but it's Azythromiacin. Since he had his first dose last night I thought he'd be well enough to go back to school because he wanted to attend his "Meet the Author Tea" for all the parents. He went into the bathroom as he does every morning and I went to get the thermometer to make sure his fever was gone. Next thing I know, Alexander is yelling at me that Andrew has passed out in the bathroom. (Now, for all of you who know us, apparently my kids are susceptible to passing out.) Needless to say I freak out as I'm trying to get him out of the ball he'd turned his body into against the bathroom door, to lay him flat on the ground. Now, keep in mind I'm also trying to get breakfast ready for the other 2 so they can go to school. So, Stephen gets up and agrees to finish with the other 2 while I rush Andrew to Quick Care. My thought is that he's dehydrated and they are going to give him an IV. To try to make this long story short, They gave him a blood test, urine test, EKG, and Blood Pressure test to which all came out normal. So, I took him home, fed him breakfast, gave him his next dose of meds. and settled down to watch Cake Boss with him. After 2 hours of shows, I sent him to the shower. Next thing I know he turns off the water and calls to me, "Mom! I'm gonna Throw up!" Good God! What now. Sure enough, up comes breakfast. "sigh" Will this day ever get any better?
So, I put a call in to the Pediatrician because passing out and throwing up all in the same day is way too coincidental. The only thing that has changed in his life these past 2 days is the meds. Needless to say I'm now awaiting a call from the Dr. to have the meds changed in hopes this will fix the problem.
Now, I don't know about you, but, seriously! Why do we parents have to be challenged in this way? The blessing that has come of this is that we have gotten to spend some one on one time together. He always has to share me with his brother and sister, so it's been nice to have him all to myself without anyone else interrupting. And that's what gets me through their illnesses. The little blessings that come of it.

I Caved
Alright, in order to better myself as a mom and a person I've decided to start a blog. I'd like to do this for intellectual purposes as well as document my life for my children in this technological world. So, a blog it is. I think for the first I will just introduce myself.
I am married to a wonderful man and have been for 15 years now. We met in October of 1992 and have been blissfully happy ever since. We have 3 Children; Alexander age 12, Andrew age 7 and Meganne age 5. I am mostly a stay at home mom but I do work part time at our Church Our Lady of Las Vegas. I run the RCIA program there and absolutely love my job. I've been doing that for the past 6 years.
I grew up in Boulder City. I am a spoiled only child who grew up as an Ice Skater. I really miss that. But with that training I was able to experience 2 of the best things I've ever done in my life. I went to Japan to skate in an ice show for 2 months right after I graduated from High School. I also performed in the Para Olympics Opening Ceremonies in 2002 when the Olympics went to Salt Lake. I will never forget those 2 things and wish I had done more performing. Oh well, I'll try not to dwell too much on that. I feel that my skating shaped me as a person. It made me very independant and disciplined in everything I do. It's taught me the importance of keeping my own children busy with extracurricular activities. It gave me a sense of self and place in the world.
Well, I think that's a long enough blog about myself for now. I'm sure past expierences will be themes for future blogs as well as bragging about my kids. Thanks for reading!
